Introduction
TDS is the tax deducted at source. This tax tax is deducted in the different scenarios. There is a change in the rates applicable for TDS effective 1st October, 2009. Here I am presenting the list. If you have any doubts please post it in the comments section. Subscribe to our future articles here.
New TDS Rates
In the 2009-10 budget, there is changes in the existing TDS rates and finance minister announced that the new rates will be effective from 1st October, 2009. The below table lists the important category and the rates for that. If you want to know about the TDS, please read What is TDS?

Hello Kannan,
You need not do that. It will be applicable only for the large organisation. To deduct the TDS you must first obtain the TIN number. Individual cannot get the status.

Yes..with the new chages, there is no surcharge or cess on TDS.
