In this article I will be writing about the way how you can pay the LIC policy premium using the SBI credit cards. In my previous article I have explained how to pay the LIC policy online. It provides the option of paying only from the debit cards. In case if you want to pay it from the SBI credit cards, this article explains you with the step-by-step approach. Hope this article will be useful for those who want to pay the LIC using SBI credi cards. It is not for any other credit cards. Only for the SBI card’s bill pay option. LIC Premium Using SBI Credit Card
Step 1 : Login to SBI Card Website
Open the website http://www.sbicard.com. There you will find the option to navigate to the bill pay section. In the below image I have marked that area in the red color.
Step 2 : Register for the Bill Pay Service
First time user has the register with the service. Click on the option Register & Pay to get started.
Step 3 : Open Bill Pay Application
It will take to the login page for the Bill Pay section. There you click on the Register link and move to the registration page.
Step 4 : Submit the registration form
Fill all the details and register it. You can use these details to login to application.
Step 5 : Login to Bill Pay Application
Once login to the page, you can add the biller types and make the payment. Here we will see how to add the insurance premium as the bill pay. Click on the Register & Pay link.
Step 6 : Search for the Biller Name
As shown in the below screen, you can pay the insurance premiums for the listed insurers. Select the option and proceed.
Step 7 : Add LIC as the Biller
Fill the insurance details and proceed. It will be added into the biller list.
Step 8 : Pay the LIC Premium
Note that, the payment option will be enabled only when the payment is due. For LIC, it will be enabled on the date of renew, and we can pay with in next one month of time.
Summary
I hope this article will be useful for those who want to pay the insurance premium using the SBI credit card. The process may be different for other credit cards. I have tried to add the LIC in SBICREDIT card using above mention method, but there is no option for LIC insurance to add. The SBI, AVIVA and other insurance you can add using this.

Hi,
It seems it is not possible to register from the SBI card portal for LIC as it is not listed there. However I have got an SMS from SBI Card saying that specifying that it is possible to register & pay using SBI credit card. They have asked me to call on 39020202 for registering the biller.
Please note, I have not tried registering my LIC policy so not very sure if this will work. But I’m hopeful that this should work.

you can get it from any branch by telling ur policy No. Just ask for a premium payment certificate for that policy. You can get it for a full financial year for any number of policies of yours. Also u can get it from LICINDIA.in

I received a call the very next day from 01242566950 (SBI cards) after i posted here. I was advised to pay through cheque this time as there was little time left for the last day to pay the premium. Accordingly I paid through cheque.Now i have rec’d a message from SBI cards that the bill for LIC has been sent for validation. Plz stop the payment immediately as i have already paid the premium. All the cm with mobile no. are already contacted & e-mail id customers are sent email so that they can be contacted. Customers can ask Mr. Krishna S to remove their contact details if they wish to do the same.

I was going through the blog, it is nice.
I too need a help from you on this.
I had registered to lic of India around 4 years back, and after that just forgot the user name and password. In fact due some financial probs, i had not paid the premium also. Now, I have made my policy on-line and trying to pay this month premium, but not able to logging as forgot my user name.
If I click on the forget password option, there is no option to know user name. And I can not re register also as already this policy is registered.
Any possibilities I can get my user ID get back.

If you are not paying the premium then the policy will be lapse. Read the below article to know about the lapsed policy:

This could be the reason why you could not pay the premium. I would suggest you to talk to your agent or LIC office to resolve this problem and start paying from online.

If you forget the username or password, there is no option to re-register the policy. You have to get the username details using LIC portal or contact the LIC’s customer care. There is no other option to to login to the LIC portal.

For ur kind info, u can still contact SBI card helpline. SBI is still registering LIC policies. LOGIN TO sbicard.com. got to easy bill pay.. then go to 3rd option standing order. Enter policy no and u r done…
Else contact SBI CARD HELPLINE FOR QUICK REGISTER.
Also Read details properly otherwise again you will post like this…

Yes. You can contact SBI card for registering the LIC policies. The problem is SBI card is not consistent and showing the options. When I wrote the blog the options are available, after that it is not showing.
But, still we can pay using the SBI card.
